Single Vehicle Crash in Millington Township

MILLINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI — On the morning of October 17, 2024, at approximately 9:18 AM, a single-vehicle crash occurred on Birch Run Road near Vassar Road in Millington Township. A 78-year-old male from Clio, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was traveling eastbound on Birch Run Road when he failed to navigate the second “S” curve. The vehicle left the roadway, became airborne after striking a driveway embankment, and started overturning.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle as it overturned, and the vehicle continued to roll approximately three more times before coming to rest on its wheels. The driver was seriously injured and was airlifted by Flightcare Helicopter to Hurley Medical Center for additional medical treatment.

Emergency responders from the Millington Township Fire Department, MMR, Arbela Township Police, Millington Police Department, and Vassar Police Department assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
