Record Cocaine Seizure Near Bluewater Bridge

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, MI — In a historic drug bust, the Drug Task Force seized approximately 370.7 pounds of cocaine, valued at around $16.5 million, following a traffic stop on October 15, 2024, just after 9:00 PM. The stop was conducted on a semi-tractor trailer along Pinegrove Avenue, near the Bluewater Bridge.

During the search, the substantial amount of cocaine was discovered inside the semi. The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, is currently being held at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center, awaiting arraignment.

This record-setting seizure is the largest in the history of both the Drug Task Force and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office. The operation was a collaborative effort involving the St. Clair County Road Patrol, K9 Brock, Port Huron Police Department, Michigan State Police, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Authorities emphasized that the Drug Task Force remains committed to combating narcotics trafficking in the community.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge following the suspect’s arraignment.
