Plane Overshoots Runway at Willow Run

YPSILANTI, MI. – A 75-year-old pilot from Ypsilanti overshot the runway at Willow Run Airport on Thursday, October 21, causing his single-engine plane to land in a field near Bemis Rd behind a residential area. Michigan State Police (MSP) responded, and the pilot, the only occupant, was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital for minor injuries. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident. No homes were damaged.
