StoryWalk Grand Opening at Unionville Park
UNIONVILLE, MI. – The Columbia Township Library is excited to announce the Grand Opening of its new StoryWalk® at Unionville Village Park on Saturday, October 26th at 10:30 a.m. The event will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an opportunity to explore the StoryWalk®, which combines reading and physical activity. Participants can enjoy cider and donuts while strolling along the walking path, reading pages from a children’s story placed throughout the park.
StoryWalk® is an innovative way to engage children and families in outdoor literacy activities. Pages from a children’s book are displayed on signs along a path, encouraging visitors to read and walk at the same time. This educational and recreational experience can promote early literacy, physical activity, and quality family time.
The Tuscola County Community Foundation generously provided funding for the project, with support from the Village of Unionville. The collaboration aims to foster a love of reading and the outdoors among local families and visitors.
The StoryWalk® project has been installed in communities across the country and even internationally to promote literacy, wellness, and outdoor activity.
Don’t miss this exciting event—come for the ribbon-cutting, enjoy refreshments, and take part in a great family-friendly activity at Unionville Village Park.
